The role

A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paraplanner to join our Wealth Management division in Bolton on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will prepare written advice and provide technical research to the Financial Planners.

A little bit more about the role

  • Preparation and maintenance of client files
  • Preparation and implementation of recommendations and financial plans, including cash flow analysis where necessary
  • Preparation of ongoing client reviews of client affairs
  • Undertake necessary research
  • To keep up to date with technical issues and legislative changes
  • To comply with relevant compliance, TCF, T&C and financial crime procedures of the firm
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues

Who we’re looking for


  • Proven experience in a paraplanning or technical role within an advisory practice
  • Experience in a wide variety of advice types and areas of financial planning
  • The ability to interpret complex planning into clear and concise reports
  • The ability to conduct, understand and interpret cash flow analysis (prior use of Voyant is preferable)
  • The ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with fund research and analysis (FE Analytics desirable)
  • Proficient use of Word and Excel


  • High standard of education with a desire to further develop and undertake relevant exams
  • Diploma level qualified (desired) and attained or working towards Level 6
  • Proficient IT skills in core Microsoft Office systems (Word, Excel)
  • Organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent people skills


  • Technical knowledge of a wide range of financial services products and planning, including Pensions and Retirement, Investments and Tax planning
  • High understanding of financial services regulations and legislations
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good working knowledge of cash flow modelling (Voyant preferable)


  • A good working knowledge of Intelliflo
  • Previous experience of the Standard Life, Aviva and Transact platforms
