Accountancy firm educates next generation

Members of the tax team from Cowgill Holloway LLP recently visited Bolton School to give a business-world update on what the last ever Spring Budget means for the UK economy.
Head of Tax Lisa Wilson and Tax Advisor Dominic Aspinall, visited Bolton School to give a speech on the most pertinent points of the Spring Budget and touched on the wider Brexit backdrop.
Around 100 business and economics students attended the seminar which follows hot-on-the-heels of the firm’s Budget event which saw panellists from businesses across the region. Two Bolton School economics students were at the Budget event with the rest of the business community.
Lisa Wilson, Head of Tax at Cowgill Holloway says, “We work closely with Bolton School on various programmes and events throughout the year. We are passionate about connecting with the next generation of talent for our own recruitment. We also feel it’s the responsibility of businesses to work with pupils throughout their studies to give them a real world perspective on much of what they’re studying in their text books.
“It’s really inspiring to see the hall full of diligent students ready with questions to ask about the Budget and wider issues. Given the ever-changing backdrop, we’re living in very interesting times and we look forward to going back to the school for the first Autumn Budget later in the year after a general election and having progressed with the UK’s plans to exit the European Union.”
