The Manchester office of Cowgill Holloway accountancy firm has advised Manchester-based Ashworth Preece on its acquisition of Copps Logistics Company Ltd in Salisbury.
Ashworth Preece is a freight forwarder and distribution company, specialising in electrical goods, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, paper, textiles, car parts, retail and grocery. The acquisition of Copps will provide a Southern office for the Group and increase their customer base.
The Cowgill Holloway advisory team was led by Charles Cooper, who said: “As the lead adviser on the deal we worked in partnership with Ashworth Preece from the outset, we helped source the target, raise the money and subsequently negotiated the terms of the transaction which led to the successful acquisition of Copps Logistics. It is a great strategic fit for Ashworth Preece which will to help fulfill their growth aims.”
Ashworth Preece has a turnover of £8 million. Copps Logistics is a £3 million turnover company.
Preston-based Napthens solicitors advised Ashworth Preece. Royal Bank of Scotland provided part of the funding for the acquisition.
