The corporate finance team of North West accountants and business adviser Cowgill Holloway LLP, has completed the acquisition of Express Cafes, a division of Compass Group plc, for Central Catering Services Ltd.
The acquisition of Express Cafes, a mobile food caterer is an expansion of the trade and operations of Wigan-based concession provider Central Catering Services which is run by entrepreneur, Terry Roscoe.
Roscoe, who has extensive experience in the food service industry, commented on the deal: “Express Cafes was an attractive proposition. It has been trading successfully for over 40 years and over that time has built an excellent customer base and a superb portfolio of products which will be a great extension to our own products and services.”
The acquisition of Express Cafes, which offers an extensive range of food outlets and supplies to customers throughout the UK, including; Brands Hatch, Cheshire Show, RHS Chelsea Flower Show and Twickenham Stadium allows Central Catering Services to extend their product offering to a larger customer base.
Central Catering Services has the largest database of independent food operators in the UK and currently provides bar and food services to many well known festivals and concerts. The company has carved out a strong reputation for quality and holds significant contracts including festivals such as ‘T in the Park’.
Cowgill’s corporate finance partner Paul Stringer structured, negotiated and led the deal, providing corporate finance advice to the purchaser, he commented: “We are pleased to have advised Central on this acquisition and the management team will no doubt utilise their well-grounded food industry experience in this thriving business.”
