Chris Harrington, Partner with Cowgill Holloway FMG, has raised over £12,000 by running a gruelling 26 miles in the Virgin London Marathon.
Chris, who has never before competed in any long distance race, joined over 35,000 fellow runners on Sunday 21 April and completed the race in an outstanding time of 4 hours and 44 minutes.
Chris said; “The day was fantastic and the atmosphere was amazing! I’m delighted to have completed this challenge for the NSPCC. It’s a phenomenal charity, and is known all over the country. I hope that the monies raised will go some way towards the Bolton & Bury Business Board’s target of raising £1m by 2016.”
The NSPCC Bolton & Bury Business Board was formed in late 2011, tasked with raising money to support the ChildLine Schools Service.
The board’s ambitious target is to raise £1 million over five years through developing corporate adoptions, organising corporate events and raising awareness through members’ business networks. Chris’ efforts will hopefully go some way towards hitting the target.
