So, 2021 has been eventful!
And as we say goodbye to the year, we must say a massive thank you to our clients, contacts and colleagues for their continued support.
2021 has brought with it many challenges but also a great deal of opportunities for the Cowgills team.
The past year has seen the biggest recruitment drive in the history of Cowgills. Almost 50 new colleagues have joined the businesses within the past 12 months. We are still on the lookout for more stars of the future including graduates and experienced professionals. If you know of anyone who would like a career at Cowgills please do get in touch.
We currently have 23 trainees as of December 2021, with seven qualifying this year and a further eight ready to come onboard in 2022. Exciting times for our future superheroes!
This month we’ve unveiled our brand new trusts hub – a website dedicated to helping clients understand the opportunities that setting up a trust can bring.
Also, we are incredibly excited to launch our brand new podcast series – Cowgills Business Heroes. In this series we talk to business leaders who are doing things a little differently. Each podcast looks at what it takes to run a successful business today, and how that success comes from hard work, determination, and a people-first attitude.
For our first interview we speak to Bolton Wanderers Chairman Sharon Brittan. This is the first interview that Sharon has ever given, and she speaks openly to partner Jason Elliott about the future of the club, talks candidly about mental health and much, much more.
Awards and recognitions
Our hard work has been paying off and we were thrilled to win the title of Mid-Market Corporate Finance team of the year at the Insider North West Dealmakers Awards 2021, where the judges recognised that the team have achieved a 350 per cent increase on its own record, showing solid consistent growth, promoting from within and growing the team.
We were recognised by Experian in their M&A Review North West Financial Adviser rankings where we were ranked 5th compared with 19th in the previous year.
In 2022 we are holding our own event – The North West Homebuilder Awards to celebrate and support the region’s SME homebuilders and developers. To find out more about this exciting event read https://www.northwesthomebuilderawards.co.uk/
Charity work
In spite of the covid restriction, we’ve continued to be extremely active in our charitable efforts.
Two campaigns which we are particularly proud of really demonstrated the difference we can make, especially when we pool together our efforts with our clients.
Firstly, our Tackling Food Poverty campaign alongside Bolton Lads and Girls Club saw Cowgills and our clients raise over £7,500 in cash donations, and provide more than 270 food parcels and 200 hot meals to local families in need during the lockdown.
Secondly, along with our clients and the efforts of the charity Endeavour, we provided a massive amount of Christmas gifts to people who would have simply gone without this initiative.
And finally…
Here is a reminder of our office opening times during the festive period:
23rd December – Close for Christmas 1:00pm
4th January – Office re-opens 9:00am
Our offices may be closed between Christmas and New Year, but as always, you will be able to contact your relationship partner during this time should you need any assistance.
We are very much looking forward to working with you throughout 2022.
