Meet the team – Chris Harrington
Head of wealth
Length of time
I have been with the firm for 15 years, since we set up the wealth business.
What do I do
My job is two fold. Firstly my role is to advise clients with regards to their long term financial planning needs. This involves putting together cash flow plans, advising clients how best to structure their assets from a tax perspective and recommending suitable investment portfolios. The aim is to ensure that clients have best opportunity to meet their long term financial objectives and ultimately be able to lead the lifestyle that they want to lead, safe in the knowledge that they are in the financial position to be able to do so.
The second part of my role is managing the wealth business which involves trying to grow the practice and develop the client proposition that we offer.
The main highlight has been seeing the growth in the practice over time and the quality of people within it. When we set Cowgills Wealth up in 2006 it was just me sat in an office and we now have a team of 21 which is full of great people who want to do a good job for our clients.
The challenges that clients face are a constant and never really change. Clearly the current environment is particularly difficult but the issues are ever present. How can I ensure that my monies work hard for me to generate a good return? When will I be in a position to be able to retire and enjoy myself? Will the capital that I have built up last for the whole of my retirement? Our role is to help clients find solutions and answers to each of these questions.
