Queen’s Awards for Enterprise awarded to two Cowgills’ clients.

Dozens of firms across the North West have been given royal recognition after they were announced as winners of the prestigious Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.

We are delighted to announce that two of those worthy winners are Cowgills clients – Duo Plastics and Barrett Dixon Bell (BDB).

BDB is the recipient of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the category of International Trade.

CEO at BDB Matt Smith commented: “At a time when good news means more to us than ever, we’re delighted to announce that BDB has been honoured as an official recipient of the 2020 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the category of International Trade.

“First established in 1965, the Queens Awards are the UK’s most prestigious awards for business, with nominees put forward by the Prime Minister and approved by Her Majesty herself.

“What makes this award extra special is not only its prestige, but also its stringent selection criteria: BDB is being acknowledged for exceptional, measurable achievements in growth and profitability, and we couldn’t be more proud.

“Of course, this tremendous achievement is all down to the hard work of our amazing BDB Team, who truly set us apart. We also have so much to thank our clients for, as we continue to make and build exciting new connections across the globe”.

Duo has been awarded the honour in the category of innovation for their DuoOptipac mailing bag.

Speaking about their achievement, Duo’s commercial director, Anthony Brimelow said: “We pride ourselves on our ability to adapt and innovate, now more than ever. We’re all extremely proud to receive such a prestigious accolade, it’s given us a real moral boost in these truly challenging times.”

First established in 1965, the Queen’s Awards are announced annually on Her Majesty’s birthday – the 21 April. They celebrate the success and achievement of exciting and innovative businesses leading the way with pioneering products or services, delivering impressive social mobility programmes or showing their commitment to excellent sustainable development practices.

We are also delighted to announce that the North West region was the biggest achiever this year outside of London and the South East, a fantastic achievement for our region.
