About Airship Services Limited
Sheffield based hospitality technology company founded by former pub landlord Dan Brookman and IT specialist Rob Marcer in 2003.
Airship transitioned from an SMS service for nightclubs and bars through to a full-service agency. The Company then transitioned again to providing CRM and email marketing platform services for the hospitality sector.
Airship integrates with 55+ tech providers, to collect data from various touch points across a brand’s operations.
The 40-strong company has received a total of £1m in NPIF investment, which enabled it to redesign its existing customer relationship management software and launch a new product, Toggle.
Toggle launched off the back of Airship in 2018 designed to allow businesses to set up their own online shop and start selling gift cards, experiences and retail products.
UK Developer Awards 2021: Dev Team of the Year, Innovation of the Year and Project of the Year.
Innovation Award at the Restaurant Marketer and Innovator Awards in January 2022.
About the deal
Airship was acquired by Zonal Retail Data Systems. The deal represented an exit for NPIF – Mercia Equity Finance, which first invested in 2019.
Zonal is a UK-based, family-owned connected technology provider to more than 16,000 hospitality and leisure businesses.
Dan Brookman will remain in the business as chief executive and continue to lead the team from Sheffield.
